My teaching experience comes from numerous settings, mostly informal education. 

I have tutored one-on-one, worked with small classes, and led activities for large groups of youth and adults.

  • Assisted a special-education reading teacher with thirteen 7th and 8th grade students
  • Developed games and activities to help the students master language skills and social studies concepts
  • Tailored teaching methods to each student's strengths and needs
  • Created "Spin and Spell", a board game with practice words for the students to read and spell
  • Made a "Popcorn" game to quiz students on frequently-used words
  • Built letter blocks for students to toss to each other as a kinesthetic exercise
Dance Teacher

  • Taught a seven-week program of weekly dance classes to students in kindergarten through fifth grade
  • Utilized simple movements and phrases to demonstrate the fundamentals of modern dance
  • Encouraged improvisation and self-expression
  • Developed age-appropriate lesson plans for each grade level
  • Organized a final showing for all 20 classes participating in the program
  • Coordinated all logistics of the event, communicated with teachers, and finished within the 1-hour allotted time
